Leonard Schrage , is a designer, technologist and researcher, who is particularly interested in holistic problem solving with a distinct focus on sustainability (read along for more buzzwords).
With degrees in architecture from Munich plus London and growing up with a fascination for technology , his journey has taken him to working in fields of architecture and urban design, business innovation and digital strategy as well as digital product design and development.
Currently, Leonard is busy investigating topics such as decarbonising cities, ethical computing, value chain transparency and data-driven knowledge transfer with Living Systems and at MIT Senseable City Lab.
Prior to that, he started Material Guide and 1×1, after working as a freelance consultant with clients ranging from NGOs, corporates and start-ups, over ministries to research institutions. During that time he was e.g. in charge of Water Sense, a low-cost, open source IoT solution for small-holder farmers in emerging countries.
